“EVERKRISP TRAIL UPDATE”
Volunteer Help Is Still Needed!
We’re excited to announce that the grand opening for the Everkrisp trail will take place on July 12! To make sure it’s ready for opening, we need all volunteers on deck to help finish construction. The grand opening will include a Friday afternoon ribbon cutting, ride/hike/run on Everkrisp, and an après style celebration with food & beverage available at the EagleVail Pavilion, more details to come soon.
Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado, in partnership with the US Forest Service and Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance (VVMTA), will be hosting a volunteer weekend on June 29-30. Signup is available on their website.
Additionally, VVMTA will be hosting three Wednesday night work sessions on the trail on June 26 and 10. Go to www.VVMTA.org for more info. The more volunteers that help with these projects, the better the trail will turn out. Details about the grand opening party will be forthcoming.
The US Forest Service, along with EVMD and VVMTA kindly ask that you refrain from using the trail until it opens on July 12. Although the seasonal wildlife closure for elk calving ends on June 20, the trail is still very much under construction. Help us ensure a great finished product by using all of the open trails we’re fortunate to have in our community until the 12th!
