Tell us a little bit about yourself
I came from humble beginnings on the South Side of Chicago, where I developed a strong work ethic and passion for learning. Through my travels across the country and the world, I’ve gained perspectives on the importance of cultural exchange and community engagement.
Why do you want to join the EVMD Board of Directors?
I believe the EVMD Board should consist of diverse perspectives with the ability to come together as a cohesive leadership team. I possess strong facilitation skills and a long-term (30-40 year) commitment to this community. As EVPOA President, I successfully negotiated a 28% ($70,000) management fee reduction, resolved the 5-year-long Warner Building issue, and avoided costly ($1M) litigation.
What are some of your past leadership experiences?
In 22+ years at a FORTUNE 100 company, I've led and shaped several large-scale (>$1B) programs and projects, leveraging my expertise to identify and implement efficiencies yielding over $650 million in savings. Managing hundreds of people across geographically and culturally diverse teams taught me the importance of effective communication, strategic planning, and inclusive decision-making.
What skills, resources, and expertise will you bring to the EVMD?
As a seasoned negotiator and inspirational leader with multiple technical degrees, I bring a unique combination of skills to the EVMD, including facilitation, negotiation, root cause, corrective action, and program management. I’ve driven immediate and long-term results in complex environments, and enabled teams to be more effective than the sum of their individual talents. I'm excited for the opportunity to apply my skillset to support the EVMD's mission and the development of decisions that benefit our community.
What are your interests and/or hobbies?
I'm deeply passionate about fostering a sense of community and connection among EagleVail residents. I believe that by promoting social cohesion and collective engagement, we can build a more vibrant community that truly reflects our shared values. I enjoy hiking, biking, volunteering, team sports, and activities that bring people together, including Pickleball, Soccer, and Ultimate Frisbee. From martial arts, I learned the importance of discipline, perseverance, and self-awareness.
