1. Tell us a little bit about yourself

Bob Finlay Eagle County resident since 1969 and owned property in EagleVail as a rental since 1995.

2. Why do you want to join the EVMD Board of Directors?

I have served on the Metro Board before in the early 2000’s for 8 years and most recently from 2018 to the present.
I believe EagleVail is one of the best places to live and own property in Eagle County with its many recreational offerings such as the pool, pickleball and tennis courts, parks, hiking trails, golf courses and the Pavilion Park and pond.

I would like to continue our work on the East End of EagleVail where some money must be spent on repairing and or replacing watering systems which means it is a good time to see if current uses warrant spending this money or if it is time to redevelop the area with an eye to the next 30 to 50 years of use. This starts with citizen input on what to do or not do. I was on the Board when we built the new Swimming pool and redid the golf course and think this is an exciting time for EagleVail to reimagine itself.

3. What are some of your past leadership experiences?

I have held board positions in the Vail Board of Realtors, Mountain Stream condos in EagleVail, Southlight condos in Boulder and the EagleVail Metro District. As a tax payer in EagleVail I am not in favor of raising taxes needlessly since I pay the same rate as you. I am in favor of making EagleVail better but realize that increased taxes almost always have to come with the improvements UNLESS homeowners vote them down. Homeowners have the final vote on what money gets spent unless we have the cash to spend in hand. You must see a benefit or you should not vote for tax increases.
