Candidate Questions:
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself
I am fairly new to Eagle Vail but not new to ski country. I grew up skiing Winter Park, moving there after graduating from CU Boulder in 1982. I spent the next 40 years developing, selling and managing real estate. I built one of the largest Coldwell Banker real estate organizations in the nation with offices as far north as Jackson Hole and as far south as Santa Fe, all focused on mountain resort real estate. We moved our corporate headquarters to Vail in 2020 which is when I moved to Eagle Vail.
2. Why do you want to join the EVMD Board of Directors?
As a developer I funded and managed the design, construction, and operations of two residential golf course communities. Other real estate developments in my portfolio include mixed use commercial, land, and residential projects throughout the west.
3. What are some of your past leadership experiences?
I also have a strong background in accounting, corporate governance, and management. I have served on numerous boards of directors both non profit and corporate. I am especially proud to have been the 20-year tenure senior board member of the Grand Foundation and remain on the Winter Park Resort Village Association. Serving on boards with similar dynamics and budgets as EVMD has been an important part of my life.
4. What skills, resources, and expertise will you bring to the EVMD?
I believe, my work and personal experience will allow me to help continue the great work done by the EVMD Board. I will lead through mediation, seeking unanimous understanding and comprehensive communication to make good board decisions. I have a deep appreciation for the constituents, the taxpayers that fund our amenities, and will strive to protect and improve our assets and amenities.
5. What are your interests and/or hobbies?
I love to ski, spend every day I can in my drift boat fly fishing, and golf occasionally. I truly love the Eagle Vail Community and the special place it has become.
I will appreciate your vote of support and continued communication.
